Hey there, fellow moms and warriors of the sticky floor and laundry mountain! I’m Heather and I’m thrilled to welcome you to my little corner of the internet, where I’m hoping to share my story, my experiences, and my insight on stay-at-home life and how I’m also trying to make it a hustle-from-home life. Like you, my little family has big dreams and a wonderful life ahead of us, but it turns out that dreams and life in general costs money. We knew it was time to buckle down, for me to “get back to work,” and tighten our budget… and so here I am,
I’d first like to start by saying I’m so lucky to finally have just about everything I need. I have a loving family and great group of friends, and my husband and I have a great life and he works very hard to keep us comfortable in our season of one-income living. It is not lost on me how difficult it is to struggle and hustle and still have very little at the end of the month. I’ve been there, (you can get the personal details about what led up to this season by checking out my Instagram). I understand that your journey might look different than mine and that is OK, you can still make small changes that really add up, and I’m so here for it!
But now I’m a full-time mom to the most amazing little tornado of chaos, He is my dream come true and my husband and I are in our shining moment with raising this little guy. But it isn’t always easy and life in the mom lane is a beautiful blend of rouge Cheerios, sleepless nights, and mastering the art of pretending to be a dinosaur at a moment’s notice (I do a great pterodactyl). This is hands down the best job I’ve ever had… and I’ve had A LOT of jobs, and you can read more about that here.
Now, don’t get me wrong—I love being a mom more than words can express. But, if I’m being totally honest, I’ve always had this hunger, this entrepreneurial spark, that just won’t be quelled by the four walls of my (messy) living room. I’ve always known in my heart of hearts that I was not meant for the 9-5 office life. Being there for the last 15ish years was really taking its toll and I didn’t even realize this until I became a SAHM. But it has now been a year (an amazing awe-inspiring year) and my husband and I agree that we are OK for now, but OK isn’t going to help us toward financial freedom, future goals and dreams, and it turns out kids are expensive! It is all good timing because I am finally ready to focus just a little on something other than my perfect baby boy.
So, what’s a mama to do? Embrace the chaos, put on the superhero cape, and venture into the world of side hustling right from the comfort (and craziness) of home!
Join me on this journey as I turn naptime into “hustle time” and transform that once daunting mountain of dirty laundry into a story that others can relate to. From brainstorming business ideas while singing the ABCs to drafting emails with a toddler on my hip, I’m diving into the mompreneur world with a cup of coffee in one hand and a sippy cup in the other.
Who says you can’t be productive in comfy pants? Certainly not this mama! Together, we’ll navigate the challenges of managing a home, taking care of our family (and ourselves!) and making money and making it stretch, all while celebrating the small victories (like successfully hiding veggies in the spaghetti sauce and finding a matching pair of socks).
Expect tales of triumphs, tales of tantrums (mostly mine), and, of course, a little bit of humor to keep us all sane.
It’s time to turn our living rooms into boardrooms, our kitchens into conference rooms, and our chaotic lives into the most epic side hustle and savings success stories. We’ve got this!
Welcome to the endeavor,
Heather
